Foundation Examination is a gateway to enter the profession of Chartered Accountancy. A student is eligible for the CA Foundation Course if he or she has passed the class 12th examination directed by an examination organisation and recognised by the Central Government as identical to that established by law in India. After passing the 10+2 Examination (Senior Secondary Examination), a registered student can sit for the CA Foundation May 2022 Exam.
So after completing your 12th Class, you can register for CA foundation course exam and have to study at least for 4 months, then you are ready to meet eligibility criteria. Descriptive cum Objective type Examination would be conducted twice in a year - once in the month of May/June and once in the month of November/December.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Eligibility criteria for the Foundation Examination to be held in MAY 2022:
(A candidate shall be eligible to appear in Foundation Examination scheduled to be held in MAY 2022, if he/she has:
(i) Registered for Foundation Course with Board of Studies on or before 1st January 2022. OR
(ii) Converted from CPT to Foundation Course with Board of Studies of ICAI on or before 13 th March 2022.
(iii) Should have appeared in the Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 examination before appearing in Foundation Examination) conducted by an examining body constituted by law in India or an examination recognised by the Central Government (or the State Government) as equivalent thereto (for the purpose of admission to graduation course) and on complying with above.

UG & PG |
Candidates who have secured aggregate marks of 55% in UG or PG degree in Commerce stream or any other equivalent stream for any recognized university will be exempted from CA Foundation Eligibility Criteria. |

Students who have qualified UG & PG degrees from Open University will be exempted from CA Foundation Eligibility Criteria 2022. |
Non-Commerce |
Students who have UG & PG degrees in a stream other than commerce and have secured around 60% marks from a recognized university will be exempted from CA Foundation Eligibility Criteria 2022. |
